Happy New Year! - 2008·01·11
It has been quite a long time since last I spoke on the front page here - and now 2008 is upon us! Where does the time go? Well, some things never change - HMS King George V is still awaiting texturing (though I did make a start on that at last!), HMS Bellona has made no progress (and is likely to be restarted now)... and I have started another new project!

Well, not really a new project, but rather the next part of the same project started with HMS Captain. HMS Britannia is now under way - a 100-gun first rate - the first first rate I have built! I only have lots more to do once she is complete! Captain is on hold for the time being, whilst other ships catch up to her level of completion. I have a few ideas to save some time in the later phases of construction which requires the pause.

Now, enjoy MMVIII!

What happened to those plans?! - 2007·07·22
I said I would texture KGV and then work on Bellona... and then I didn't?! Well, I did do some work on Bellona, but realised I had made a mistake interpreting the plans. It's probably not too bad, but I didn't have the time to carry on with her for a while after that, and so she has returned to the back burner for now... KGV unfortunately never left, but she will be textured eventually! Instead I have hit upon an interesting idea, which requires me to build a dozen different ships of the line! Just a quick side project, kind of thing - you know how it is! Anyway, HMS Captain is the first of them, and can be seen in the projects section.

Forthcoming plans - 2007·02·09
With Mir approaching completion (well, the modelling is anyway), I'm starting to think about what to do next. My new year's 'resolution', if you like, was basically to focus on one project at a time. As I was already working on Mir, I decided to get her finished before moving back to one of my other on-going projects. I think that it is quite likely that I will move on to the texturing of HMS King George V (finally!) once Mir is finished... hopefully that won't take more than a couple of weeks, and then I can return to working on HMS Bellona, which should quickly start to look rather more interesting that it does at present!

Happy New Year! - 2007·01·02
Well, it's 2007 already! It comes around quicker every year... This year I am going to try and get my projects under control. I have a lot of momentum with Mir at the moment, so I shall see that through to completion (including texturing). After that, well, HMS King George V is crying out to be textured as well. So we'll have to see how things progress.

Where are the updates?! - 2006·10·27
Well... they're out there... somewhere! Several of my projects look like they're dead right now - I think I've posted one update since the summer. However, they are not dead! I just haven't had the time to work on them very much, and I have even less time on my hands now. However, I fully intend to keep working on my projects. I will not abandon any of them - although it make take a long time to finish a few of them!

I am actually working on both the Bellona and Sweep-Stakes at the moment (pretty much weekends only for the time being). Eventually I may even get the time to texture King George V! Anyway, I am hoping to update Bellona in the near future, and the reason for the extensive delay should then become apparent!

Back from holiday - 2006·09·23
I have just returned from a couple of weeks' holiday in Ireland - and quite nice it was too! I'll post a few photos up eventually. If you sent me a message through this site over the last couple of weeks, don't worry I'll get to it soon!

The Site Returns! - 2006·07·30
It's back! Well, sort of. You might notice from the original date of the previous news item that the transfer process took ages! It would have been quicker but I had a lot of trouble getting my old hosts to do anything, and to cut a long story short, I basically lost my old domain name.

Actually though, that's not such a bad thing. I registered a better one, and I have given the site a bit of a renovation. Search engines should like it rather better now, for one thing. I've also adjusted the layout of a couple of the pages, and added commenting to the photo pages. There are also a few changes and additions to stuff that only I get to use, but should make the site even easier to manage! I'm always keen to hear what you think of the work I do, so please do post comments if you have them!

Moving Hosts - 2006·04·24
During the next couple of weeks I will be moving the site to a new hosting company, so at some point during that time the site will not be accessible.

Updated: This may take up to about a week from start to finish.

When this transfer is complete there will be some slight re-arrangement of some of the pages to make things clearer, and one or two extra features as well, perhaps.

Update 5/5/06: The transfer process has begun, so expect the site to go offline during the course of the next day or so.

New Project: H.M.S. Bellona! - 2006·03·20
I have started a new project - this time returning to by far my favourite subject, an 18th century Royal Navy warship. Bellona was a 74-gun ship, so slightly larger than Agamemnon that I built previously. However, this project is to be far more detailed than that one was. Watch her progress in the Projects section: HMS Bellona.

HMS King George V Modelling Completed - 2006·03·15
This is a bit late, but as the new site was still being developed when this happened... I almost have an excuse. The modelling for H.M.S. King George V has finally been completed, and I will shortly be working on texturing her up. Who knows, you might even see her bobbing about in a scene eventually! You can see her in the Projects section of the site: HMS King George V
